Favorite Bible Story: Jesus calms the storm, the calling of Gideon, Jonathan and his armor bearer and the “perhaps” of God.
Favorite Book Recommendation: The Jesus Storybook Bible, or if that doesn’t count, Soul of Shame has been really impactful for me.
““Because children have abounding vitality, because they are in spirit fierce and free, therefore they want things repeated and unchanged. They always say, “”Do it again””; and the grown-up person does it again until he is nearly dead. For grown-up people are not strong enough to exult in monotony. But perhaps God is strong enough to exult in monotony. It is possible that God says every morning, “”Do it again”” to the sun; and every evening, “”Do it again”” to the moon. It may not be automatic necessity that makes all daisies alike; it may be that God makes every daisy separately, but has never got tired of making them. It may be that He has the eternal appetite of infancy; for we have sinned and grown old, and our Father is younger than we.”
― G. K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
“Give yourself to the Church. You that are members of the Church have not found it perfect and I hope that you feel almost glad that you have not. If I had never joined a Church till I had found one that was perfect, I would never have joined one at all! And the moment I did join it, if I had found one, I should have spoiled it, for it would not have been a perfect Church after I had become a member of it. Still, imperfect as it is, it is the dearest place on earth to us. -CH Spurgeon

What do you love about WMU?
The People. Campus is nice, the landscaping and fountains are refreshing but I love the people.
Why is the good news of Jesus good news to you?
Because Jesus knows me completely and still loves me completely.
What do you do around H2O?
I love to serve and make others successful and so I do or am willing to do just about anything with H2O… except for music, nobody wants that.
A bit more about Ben:
I’m passionate about Jesus, my wife and kids, and the church. I probably listen to too many podcasts and enjoy making and eating smoked meats.
